Honestly, Who Needs 30 Days?

Screnzy update: True to my word, I finished my script last night. Rather, I hit 100 pages and won Screnzy. I have yet to actually finish the script, which I estimate will take about 30 more pages, and that's if I decide to cut out some stuff. I haven't done any writing today, and I probably won't get the chance since I need to get some sleep and go to work, but I may continue tomorrow. =D

Other than that, I really have nothing to say, except I am SOOO happy Vampire Diaries is repeating tonight.

Thursday. Riiiiight.

Did I say I'd be finished my script by Thursday? CLEARLY, I mean Friday. Yeah, I only wrote two pages. In my defense, I'm tired and boiling up here, despite the storm outside. At least I'm at 93/100, so I only need to write 7 pages tomorrow. And I have so many things to talk about, like Marie and her soon-to-be stepdaughter getting along, and Christmas, and Marie finding out Colin's deep dark secret. Yeah. Tomorrow.

Right now I need to pull myself away from the distraction of 19 Kids and Counting (bloody Duggars. 19 kids. NINETEEN.) and get some sleep.

Also, I'm a little disappointed that I can't seem to find out if Vampire Diaries is on tonight. I've been looking forward to seeing it all week, what with the revelations about Klaus and Elijah and curse. And I really think it'll come out soon that a Petrova was the one to put the curse on him, and Katherine and Elena are HER dopplegangers. Who else would it be?

Goodnight.

70th Post!!

After, what? Three years of doing this blog on and off, I've finally reached 70 posts.

Screnzy update: I wrote 5 pages, bringing me to 91/100. That means I have 9 pages to write in three days, but I'll probably do it all tomorrow, and keep writing! I'm having so much fun with this script.

Got to go eat and go to work, but before that, can I just say how unbelievably hot it is here, despite all the RAIN?!? Gosh.

So Close, Yet So Far Away

Screnzy update: 5 pages today! Yes, it may have only been one scene, and I may still have much more plotted and 14 more pages to go, and I may have told you I'd be finished tomorrow. But you know what? I didn't cound for having to go to work early tonight. I only got about four hours of sleep because I realized this and knew I had to write. So, sue me if I finish on Thursday instead.

That's really all I had to say. Goodbye.

I'm Just Plain Awesome

How awesome am I, you ask? Well, let's see...

After writing roughly four pages of my script, I started having problems with Scripped.com not saving not saving the script. I had this problem once last year, and this is my second or third time this year. Despite needing to writing 7 pages to make up for the days of not writing, I left the site because I didn't even know if those four pages would be saved.

So I came back later and (hallelujah!) all but the last page had been saved. Thankfully, I remembered the dialogue and just rewrote it, along with a another page. That brought my total to 5. So I woke up today fully knowing that I'd have to write two more pages for it to count as 7 for the entire day (see previous post about messed up sleep schedule).

Well, seeing that this was the longest scene EVER put into a script (still the scene where Marie and Colin meet the kids and have fun and a picnic in the park) I had so much inspiration and fun writing it that I just kept going! Finally I stopped and uploaded it, and I'd written way more than needed, putting me at 12 pages for the day, and 78 total. Then I thought to myself, what if I could just write two more, and reach 80? Well, I wrote three more, and reach 81/100.

Know what that means? It means I have 19 more pages to write and five days to do it in. It means I'm back to only writing 4 pages a day. AND, because I still have so much planned for this script (I mean, come on, they're not even married yet!) I'm probably just going to keep writing and surpass that by Wednesday. Yes. Wednesday is my goal. If I can write 18 pages in a day, why not 19 in two?

Getting off the subject of Screnzy, if you're a Nerdfighter (fan of the VlogBrothers on YouTube) you may already know that Hank Green has created some nifty 2D glasses that will take any 3D movie and turn it normal for your viewing pleasure. While I've never had any problems with 3D, such as headache and nausea, I thought this was a brilliant idea. And I'm not the only one who thought so. I woke up this morning and an article about the glasses was on the homepage of my internet - http://www.thescreeningroom.ca/2011/04/are-2d-glasses-the-new-3d-glasses.html

That's about all. See you guys tomorrow.

Happy Easter!

Screnzy update: I'm just about to start that writing frenzy, so my pagecount has not changed since earlier. Still at 66. Although, I just calculated that it'll take about 7 pages a day for me to catch up, so that's my goal right now. Maybe I'll even make it ten for today. =)

Not much else to report. Just praying that my parents win big tonight. .... Yep, that's all.

I Fail

I know, I know. I missed two days.

Screnzy update: Since I haven't written a word in the past few days, I have nothing to put here. The Screnzy and NaNoWriMo sites are down anyway, so I can't even verify. I promise to work my butt off tomorrow for it though.

Ah, Easter holidays. Not as relaxing as one might hope. After I post this I have to help my mom cook dinner and then we're off to work. My parents will be out all of Sunday anyway, so I'll have loads of alone time. Let's just hope they win some money at bingo, eh?

Oh, and remember back to my role-playing post, where I said that my reservation on Phoebe Halliwell on the Charmed site might have run out while I was sick? Well, it did. And someone else took her. Chris is also taken now. So my options are: Paige (blah), Billie (blah), Leo, Coop, Henry, and Wyatt. As you can see, I'm not crazy about any of them. Not sure what I'm going to do. =(

Happy holidays!

Backwards Marathon?

Screnzy update: Just wrote 4 pages. I was hoping for 8, but I'll take what I can get. It brings me up to 66/100, which is not bad, but I'm still slightly behind. In any case, the story is going well. Marie and Colin have just met in the park with their kids. Things are getting awkward.

It's now noon, and I must get a few hours before work, so I'm going to make this short (as if any other post I've made this month could be considered long).

I'm currently watching HP and the Order of the Phoenix with my mom. We already finished watch Deathly Hallows for a second time, and then moved on to Half-Blood Prince. I expect we'll be on Goblet of Fire tomorrow. At least I won't have to deal with Umbridge then.

Yeah, I should go.

So Many Easter Eggs...

Screnzy update: I wrote 4 pages. They weren't good pages, but they're done, bringing my total to 62/100. Also, Marie and Colin are planning to take their kids along on their 2nd date, which takes place on Halloween.

As for anything interesting that happened to me today: I spent the entire day cutting and folding little slips of paper, and then stuffing 300 Easter eggs with 1 Hershey's kiss and a slip of paper. All for the Easter service at church.

My eyes, back, and ankle hurt, but aside from that, I'm doing fine! Got about an hour and a half before I have to go to work, so I should go eat something.

See y'all tomorrow, when I'll hopefully do something productive with my day.

There Are No Words...

Screnzy update: 2 pages. I'm just finishing up Marie's first class at the new school. She's even met her friend/colleague's niece, Kelsey, who is a student there. Kelsey's going to become a minor character throughout the movie. She's just lost her parents in the virus affected Mars, and because she's turning eighteen, the government is forcing her to marry and have a child. Marie and Kelsey are going to form a strange friendship through this. 58/100.

Weather's looking nice today. No snow, no rain. Little bit windy, but what did you expect? It'll be nice to go back to work today, so long as my parents don't leave without me. That's why I'm writing so early, actually. I have to get some more sleep before work, and I'm not sure if I'll have any time to do this later. See my post from a few days ago about my sleep schedule for more information.

You know something else I realized while writing my script? There isn't a good substitute for the word "ma'am" - at least not one that would apply to a woman under forty. I mean, Kelsey was supposed to be introducing herself to Marie, her teacher who is only eleven years older than her (28) but "I'm Kelsey Hamilton, Ma'am" sounds far to old, and "I'm Kelsey Hamilton, Ms Wellesley" sounds too formal and strange. I settled for not having her address Marie at all, but it's still nagging at me. =(

Anyway, must go and get some rest.

Sleep Deprivation, We Meet Again

So, what was my day like, you ask? Well, I stayed up all morning and finally passed out at one in the afternoon only to have my parents come home at two and wake me with their loud banging of doors and whatnot. So my mom and I watched HP and the DH until we both passed out at four-thirty. Then I woke up at eleven, with a grand total of six hours sleep, because I knew I still had to write my script and do this post. So, in short, I am VERY tired right now.

Nevertheless, I did good on my writing.

Screnzy update: 3 pages, putting me at 56 pages on the Screnzy site, or 50 pages in real life. Still, pretty impressive, yes? 56/100!

Oh, and do you want a Mississauga weather report? Here-

Intense rain, slight snow, sunny, intense snow, windy, sunny, slight snow, sunny, intense snow, gentle rain, fog.... You get the picture. Let me remind you all, it's the middle of April. And despite all those jokes about Canada have bad weather all year round - this is bloody ridiculous. I want to be rid of my winter boots already!

Day Off With the Deathly Hallows

Wow, it feels very strange to be blogging. Yesterday kind of felt like a free day since I had done all my requirements before I went to bed. I feel like I missed a day or something. Anyway...

Screnzy update: only wrote 1 page today. Having a little problem, but I'll work past it tomorrow.

So, despite all the writing preperation I did last night, even going so far as to prepare something for myself to eat on the carride to work, my parents went and left me at home. And I don't mean I overslept or they didn't wake me up - I mean I came down the hall to put my coat and shoes on, and they were half-way out the door! Apparently they wanted me to have ANOTHER day off. Not that I'm complaining about having a day off, mind you, I just wish they had of told me that when I got up so I could get some more sleep.

As it was, I watched some more Charmed, and was able to tape the new episodes of Smallville and Supernatural (ohmygosh Bobby&Ellen!!). AND they surprised me by buying HP & the Deathly Hallows movie, which my mom and I watched when she came home.

Having seen it for the second time now, I have to say that it really is the best movie so far. I admit, there were a couple of mistakes. Harry's seemingly insignificant mirror shard that he carries around with him for the entire movie, and Kreature's new loyalty to Harry - both of which should have been explained in previous movies. And I'm really hoping they're going to go into detail about the Dumbledores' past in the next movie, otherwise a lot of the things they put in this movie will be pointless.

Otherwise: fantastic! It was nice to have the old cast back - Clemence Poesy, Frances de la Tour, Brendan Gleeson - and I absolutely LOVE the new actors as well - Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Domhnall Gleeson (Brendan's son, ya know), and Jamie Campbell-Bower (he and Bonnie Wright are engaged!).

Anyway, I'll stop ranting and go have some dinner. G'night.

I'm Halfway There!

..ya know, to the end of the month. As for my script, I'm OVER halfway there. I wrote two pages today, and am still on Marie and Colin's date.

In case you're wondering why I'm updating so early, I haven't been to bed since the last update. In fact, if I want to get up in time for work, I should probably be going to bed right now. So I'm going to make this short. Due to my scripting and BEDAing, I'm having to adjust my sleeping schedule. Usually I wake up at five-six p.m., go to work at two a.m., come home at five, go to bed at eight.

Because of my mom's new job at seven-eleven p.m., my dad and I have decided to go to our job at that time, meaning that I have about a half hour to wake up, eat, get dressed and go to work. By the time I get work at twenty-to-twelve, I have no time to do my daily goals.

Anyway, end boring schedule rant. Short version: I needed to do my writing and blogging now otherwise I'll miss a day of both. End of story.

Goodnight.

I'm Gifted

Screnzy Update: I HIT FIFTY PAGES!!!!! That means I'm half-way to the goal of 100, and even though I'm only a day ahead, I'm really excited. I mean, it's not bad considering I didn't think I get anywhere with this plot, ya know? But the story's getting really good. Marie and Colin are having their first official date and they just admitted to each other that they've been married and have kids. They're so cuuuute together. =D

Anyway, despite my new found faith in the above screenplay, I haven't been able to get my mind off of the Charmed spin-off all month. It's not like the idea is just a back-up. This is something I'm definitely going to write, even if I save it for next Screnzy. I MUST DO THIS. I don't even care if I ever get it made. I mean, it seems unlikely anyway, seeing as how the original cast would have to come back, but just as long as I posted it online for more fans to see. It would be frickin' awesome.

So I was thinking about this spin-off of mine, which I've titled 'Gifted' instead of Charmed, and I decided I needed a place to keep all of my ideas and scripts and stuff, other than on some torn and stained pieces of paper cluttering my desk with their scribbles. So I opened up a wikia in which I will be transfering everything. The wikia is not yet ready for the eyes of the public, but I'll be sure to post the link just as soon as I've got it looking reasonably decent. =)

Roleplaying ... Finally

That's right, I'm finally making the time to get back to my roleplaying. But first, let's start with our usual segment-

Screnzy Update: I wrote four pages today, bringing me up to 45/100! And all that from a phone conversation between Marie and her mom. lol. I'm hoping to get to fifty tomorrow with Marie's first official date with her fiance and then her first day of work on Mars. =D

Now, roleplaying:

In Noctem
Without a doubt my favorite site that I'm on right now, mostly because the admin is Tippy and I'm a g-mod. =D

Anyway, it's a marauder-era site featuring Death Eaters and parties and a wizarding circus. It's awesome. Right now I play a Ravenclaw werewolf girl, and Peter Pettigrew, and a widowed professor of arithmancy. Soon I'll be making a death eater girl, and some hufflepuff boys.

Love of a Lifetime
Partly the inspiration for my Screnzy script. <3

It's all about a match-making agency in Chicago. The characters (and roleplayers) are great and very friendly. Right now I just play Katherine Grant, a divorcee who is trying to avoid running into her ex while still finding a new love.

Charming
One of the most unique Harry Potter rpgs I've seen.

Set in Victorian-era UK, magical folk are being run out of muggle towns and have set up shop in Hogsmeade. I play Malcolm Ollivander, the eldest child of a wandmaker. He's rude and selfish and has issues with his little sister. I'm planning on playing a house-elf named Elodie soon as well. Which reminds me, creatures of all sorts are welcome! Friggin' awesome site.

We Are All Charmed
The first ever Charmed rpg I've joined.

The plot here is pretty simple. Shortly after the series finale, when the Charmed Ones are all happily married and stuff, their future kids travel to the past to help them with some bad guys popping up. I'm trying out for Phoebe Halliwell, my favorite of the Charmed Ones. Actually, I may not because my reservation on her ran out while I was sick, so let's just hope she's still available, eh?

-----

That's all for today. Four sites though, that's not bad. I think it may be a record for me, actually.

Time to Play Catch-Up

Well, today was the day I promised myself I would get everything back to normal (or at least how it was before I got sick) and I think I managed that a little bit.

I got the apartment cleaned up, at least. I did some writing. Roleplaying, unfortunately, will have to wait until I get home from work though. As it is, I have a half-hour to finish this post, eat something, and get ready for work before my parents come to pick me up.

Screnzy update: 2 pages! You know what that means?! I passed 40 (according to the Screnzy site, not this actual script-writing site)!! 41/100

All right, gotta go!

I'm Free!

It's official, I'm finally over this bloody cold. My mom, however, has caught something, so now I'm taking care of her. And that's in between the Screnzying and the BEDAing and the working, and hopefully the roleplaying.

Screnzy Update: I wrote one page today. I think that's my worst yet, but I got kinda stuck. Tomorrow will be better. 39/100 pages.

So, maybe after I cook dinner or come home from work I'll get around to roleplaying again. It helps that I have this handy laptop here, but it's kinda hard to focus on writing when you're watching tv, ya know?

Later.

No Promises

Screnzy Update: I've written two pages today, so I'm still ahead of schedule a little bit. I've just hit a brick wall a little, because I still haven't decided what my MC's new fiance does for a living, which is a problem.

I'm almost over this bloody cold. I think one more day at home and I could probably beat it completely, but my parents need me to go to work tonight. We'll see what happens when I get home, but I may be worse off like I was after work on Wednesday.

Depending on how I feel, I might start roleplaying again today, but most likely tomorrow if I'm allowed back on the computer for long amounts of time.

I should go get ready. See y'all tomorrow.

I Suck At This

Sorry my updates haven't been that great this month. Today actually marks the ninth day I've been sick with this stupid cold. I'm hoping by Monday it'll be over and I can finally go back to work and roleplaying and having interesting things to talk about, but you never know.

Screnzy update: I wrote two pages. Woot.

Just watching Tangled with my mom (my fifth time, her second), so I should probably go now.

I am Victorious!

Screnzy update: I just wrote five pages (I love my MC's ex-husband so much) and now I'm at 30/100 pages, even though the Screnzy site marks it as 33 pages. Anyway, I met Chris Baty's goal of 30 by Friday. Ha!

I'm feeling much better today, so I may be going to work, but I'm not sure. I really don't have time to be on right now anyway, because I need to find out if I'm going. So I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye!

-Lizzy

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Well, This Sucks

Okay, so, I didn't get any roleplaying done last night because when I got home from work I wasn't feeling so well. And when I woke up this morning I couldn't talk because of a sore throat. Needless to say, I'm back on couch-rest with minimal computer time. As such I don't have much time to write this post.

Screnzy update: only got one page done before my mom came home, so I'll have to do loads tomorrow. Eeek!

Talk About a Frenzy

Can't talk long, got things to do.

Screnzy update: Just wrote 6 pages, bring my total up to 24/100. Thank means I only need to write the required 3 pages a day for the next two days to meet mine and Chris Baty's goal of 30 on Friday. The script is going very well and it's really fun.

I think another day at home and I might be able to finally beat this cold. Alas, my family needs me at work. Mom just started back at another job on Monday, so she's not doing the family job as much, and Dad's taking time away from his main job which means that A) he's spending more time at home, and B) he and I can go do that job while Mom's at hers.

All in all, it means that I didn't get enough sleep and have been running around doing my writing and cleaning since I woke up. Now that this post is out of the way, I have to go set the table, eat dinner, and then we're leaving right away.

Hugs to you all. And hopefully tomorrow I'll have something interesting to talk about like roleplaying, since I'm going back to it tonight. Squeeeeeeeeee!

Nothing to Say

This is unusual for me, but I'm at a loss for what to talk about today. Nothing really fascinating has happened in the last 24 hours.

Screnzy update: I went ahead and wrote that part I thought would be boring, and I was able to develop more of the 'Martians hate the Government of Planets' thought process through an education expert being too much into politics. And the scene right after that, which I also thought would be boring, turned out to be pretty funny and sad at the same time. Not a bad night! I'm looking forward to tomorrow's writing, with the scenes I have lined up. I'm currently at 18/100 pages, and I need to write 4 a day for the next three days to make my/Chris Baty's goal of 30 by Friday.

Also, I think I'm almost over this stupid cold. Then I get the joy of going back to work, but also of getting back to roleplaying and being able to tell you about the awesome sites I'm on!

I'm off to have some cabbage roll soup and see if there's anything on tv. G'night, lovely people.

Who Knew?!

All right, let's get the Screnzy count out of the way. I'm at 14/100 pages. I believe it's just past today's goal, so I'll have to do some extra work tomorrow to get ahead again. Plus, I'm going to take Chris Baty's challenge and hit 30 pages by Friday. Unfortunately I've hit a bit of a roadblock with my upcoming scene because I think it may be too boring to even bother with. I'll think it over tonight and continue tomorrow.

Today we're going to be talking about genealogy. For the past several months I've been very interested in knowing about my family history. Well, I suppose I should say that I've been interested since I was a kid, but I've just been acting on my curiosity in the past few months.

I got a membership on Ancestry.ca and have been going through lots of records. A while back I found a family tree someone had put together tracing the Sabourin line all the way back to France in 1611! Honestly, I wasn't that surprised that we came from France. Our direct line never left Quebec and Ottawa (both primarily French-speaking places) until my dad moved to Toronto when he was a teenager. He lost the accent and most of the language since then, but it's still been a common fact in our household that we're French.

I had the same expectations of tracking my paternal grandmother's side all the way to France, and apparently I was correct. I found out this afternoon that my 10th great-grandfather did indeed come from France, but I also found out that his father came from Switzerland! That's probably been one of the more shocking things I've discovered so far.

On my mother's side, I've had considerably less luck. I knew her mother's side had some British in it, and I was able to track my great-great-grandmother and her parents to England and Scotland, but I'm afraid the trail has ended there. As for my maternal grandfather's side, we always knew they came from the Ukraine. Sadly, I haven't been able to find any records of my great-grandparents in the Ukraine or when they came to Canada, and that's what I really wanted to find out.

I've not given up hope on finding out more information from all the branches of my family. I'm constantly clicking the little leafy hints on Ancestry, and I've even started watching the British and American episodes of Who Do You Think You Are? for more hints as to how to search. If I ever find someone famous on my family tree, I'll be sure to share it. =)

Must go. G'night, loves.

I Heart TV!

Feeling much better today. My throat is normal again although my nose ... achoooo! And that about sums it up. So today I've been allowed minimal time online. Just enough to do my script writing and this post. Of course, I would've just snuck on to do them anyway, but it's nice to have approval.

Anyway, the script is great so far. I'm now at 12 pages, and I think I figured out a sub-plot. Overall the story is flowing well - better than I expected for a script. Some scenes I planned turned out to be shorter than I expected, but some are becoming longer, too. So it's all working itself out. =)

I can't believe I forgot to say over the last two days, but if this script doesn't work out for whatever reason, or I finish early, I've got another script idea lined up:

Few people know of my deep love for the show Charmed. I was just a kid when it first aired, but I watched the first few seasons with my mom, and have since gone and bought them all. I love most of the characters (Phoebe, Cole, Chris... *sigh*), but was rather disappointed with the series finale, as I usually am. It's not that it didn't clear everything up, or didn't give us a happy ending, because it did. But I think they still could've done so much more.

Now, I know some of the actors wanted out. Actors the show couldn't have done without. But fan came up with a solution to that: do a spin-off with Wyatt and Chris. I have no idea why this idea never got put into effect, but I'm sort-of glad. Because, without giving away too many spoilers, that's not really including all of the characters they could be, ya know?

Anyway, my back-up script is a spin-off of Charmed, set 16 years after the finale. It'll feature Wyatt and Chris, younger that people are used to seeing them, and also the other characters. That is all.

Getting off the subject of Screnzy, I've been thinking a lot about tv, and how my love of it has grown in the past few years since I've been introduced to shows like Supernatural, Smallville (last season! *cries*), Castle and Vampire Diaries. I decided to take some time to show you all the shows that I am currently interested in.

Mondays-
DWTS/Bachelor: Blegh. Mom watches, so I have to, too.
House: My poor House, dumped again. Somebody needs to get him a better team to make fun of ... preferably keeping Chase.
Haven: Awesome. I love the brothers that own the newspaper. =D
Castle: Squeeeeeee! I love Rick, and Kate, and Alexis, and ....

Tuesdays-
V: Can't wait for season 2 - such a depressing cliffhanger!
NCIS: Tony, Abby, McGee, Gibbs, Ducky. Enough said.

Wednesdays-
Criminal Minds: Prentiss in gone! Oh, how will I go on?! *sniffle* Well, at least Reid's still there.
Criminal Minds, SB: Not bad so far. Forest Whitaker is pretty good as the lead.

Thursdays-
Vampire Diaries: What's not to love about this? Maybe John Gilbert. Or the fact that Jenna is probably the only one in the whole town who has NO IDEA what's going on.
Bones: Hodgins/Angela. *sigh* Booth/Brennan - get together already!! Sheesh.
The Mentalist: Jane just needs to pack up and find a new team. If Cho wants to come along, fine. But they seriously need to leave the others behind.

Fridays-
Supernatural: I could write a whole post on the epicness of this show. Cross your fingers for a seventh season?
Smallville: I miss Chloe. Why could they just keep her and Ollie around 'til the end of the season? Still, I'm glad to have Lionel back.

Weekends:
The Adventures of Merlin: A new favorite of mine. I love Morgana. I don't care that she's evil, she's fantastic. And Merlin and Arthur and Gaius, of course. Uther and Gwen can go be killed by the dragon or something.

And now, I shall go watch my new box set of Merlin's 2nd season that Mom just bought me in an effort to keep me resting on the couch. Sidenote: bribes always work.

See you tomorrow, loves.

Times watched Tangled: still at 4

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Ah, the Perks of Being Sick!

I admit that there aren't many perks, but here are some I've found since last night:

-You get off work on the busiest day of the week.
-You get to watch Tangled for the fourth time.
-You get to sit on the couch all day, catching up on your favorite shows like Bones and House.

Unfortunately, laptop access isn't as great as I thought it would be. My mom doesn't want me online at all, so I'm just sneaking on to do my Screnzy writing and write this post.

Speaking of Screnzy, I made my daily quota again. I'm actually ahead of schedule. 8/100 pages. =D

Btw, what the heck?! House is married??

I shall now leave you with my favorite quote from Tangled so far. See you tomorrow.

BEDA, Screnzy, and Ugh!

Yeah, so that whole resolution about my posting here once a week hasn't really worked out too well, has it? Oh well. Guess I'll just have to make it up to y'all.

To start that, I'm participating in Blog Every Day in April (also known as BEDA) this year. This is my first post.

Updates on me are not worth telling, except that I've been doing a lot of role-playing (links to come in a later post) and I'm currently sick.

So as I sit on the couch, covered my Harry Potter fleece blanket, watching Tangled for the second time, and trying to muster up the energy to go to work in three hours, I figured I should do a little post to get things started again.

At this time, the only thing worth saying is that I am also competing in Screnzy this month, as I did last year. Some of you may know, but Screnzy is short for Script Frenzy. It's hosted by the Office of Letters and Light, who also host NaNoWriMo in November. The goal is to write 100 pages of a script (or several short scripts equaling 100 pages) in a month.

Last year I did an adaptation of my first NaNo novel and failed. This year, I am determined to win! I've come up with a completely new idea:

In the year 5017, when all the planets in our galaxy have been modified so as to be inhabitable by humans, a plague sweeps over Mars, killing every over the age of thirty. To document the disaster and also see that the schools remain open, Marie - a high school history teacher from Earth - goes on a missionary trip to Mars with her seven-year-old son. However, Marie wasn't told of the new laws being put into effect on Mars to increase the population. All single adults are being forced to marry and conceive a child within a year of their wedding. Marie is matched to a single father of two. Colin, whose ex-wife died shortly after their divorce six months ago, isn't quite ready to be in a new relationship, nor are his daughter and son ready to have a stepmother.

It's a romantic-comedy, really. But it has hints of mystery as Marie starts to figure out that the plague wasn't natural, and that Colin might have had something to do with it. So far it's going good. I've written five pages (more that the daily quota) and will probably do a couple more after I post this. If anyone wants to be Screnzy buddies, go ahead and add me on the site. My username is Elizabeth_Sabourin.

That's all for now, guys. Talk to you tomorrow!
